Week 4 Player of the Week Selections Announced
This morning the WRWBL released the recipients for Players of the Week for Week 4. In total four players from four different teams were selected.
Lucas Silva was a bright spot all week in the Gap2Gap lineup. The Dominican University commit had a pair of extra base hits, including a 2 RBI triple against the defending champion New York Bears to seal a 6-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Joe Mandile continues to deal on the mound for the New Rochelle Tigers. The two-time Cy Young winner went the distance against the New City Outlaws on Saturday, tossing his second shutout of the season to help secure a 4-0 win and doubleheader sweep.
Alex Nicolosi is one of the league's premier arms and he showed that this week. The former Seton Hall standout tossed 4 scoreless innings against Gap2Gap on Tuesday, striking out 9 and allowing only 2 hits to help the Outlaws secure a 6-0 win.
Jake Gronowski has been one of the Thunderdogs best hitters all year long and he proved that with his performances at the plate this week. On the week, Gronowski hit .714 with 5 hits, a double, an RBI, and 2 runs scored.
