Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League

The Cy Young winner for 2023 is TJ Fuerst from the Westchester Statesmen!

Despite the usual steep learning curve for new pitchers in the WRWBL, Fuerst dominated right from the get-go. He was the ace of the Statesman all season long, frequently shutting down some of the league’s best lineups.

The right hander out of Manhattanville College led the league in strikeouts with 50, was 2nd overall in innings pitched with 45, and his 2.38 ERA was good for 4th overall in the league. He also posted 10+ strikeout games on two separate occasions.

It’s not often a rookie pitcher comes in and dominates some of the best hitters in the New York metropolitan area, but Fuerst was up for the challenge all season long.
