The Westchester Statesmen enter their first year in the WRWBL, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what they bring to the table. A team full of collegiate talent from around the area, the Statesmen will look to compete early on with the goal of becoming a top three seed going into playoffs and competing for a championship. Although lacking the same amount of depth that other teams possess, the Statesmen have talent around the diamond.

Offensively, the Statesmen will be guided by two of their veteran hitters, Frank Delgado and CJ Archul. The former New City Outlaw standouts made the switch over to the Statesmen in the offseason and will provide their hitting experience in the lineup. Supporting them offensively will be a slew of collegiate talents in Matt Halas, Braden Kunda, Anthony Pressimone, Jordan Wazolek, Anthony Caputo, Mike Musantry and Deven Silva. While young, this lineup will look to get after opposing pitchers early and often.

On the mound, the Statesmen boast a slew of collegiate arms from a wide range of schools. Leading the staff will be Manhattanville standout TJ Fuerst. The right hander has put up a sub 2.50 ERA for the Valiants in 25 innings of work and will be counted on early to set the tone for this young pitching staff. Other collegiate arms such as Jackson Branigan, Joe Lacoparra, Myles Durney, Antonio Castillo, Anthony Abraham and Sean Christiansen will be tasked with keeping runs off the board against some of the league’s best hitters.
